Some important informations regarding drive wheel axle of the 1/6 scale Cromwell:

The shaft consists of an M8 threaded rod.
It is necessary to mill the flats on the threaded rod.

At least one groove on each axis is required.
Even hand milled with a Dremel will suffice.

The barrel is already removable in the stock design, but not so easily.
I usually dont put screw on the servo arm so that the barrel can be removed quickly.

As for the metal wheel inserts, this year we started shipping metal inserts with the new kits.

If you had filament between the gears, it could have been a bad pressure setting (of these gears).
It can also happen with improper retraction settings or simply with a nozzle clog (even partial).

I've built a lot of these models and still prefer to paint some parts separately.
Especially small details, wheel rims and stuff like that.

So for myself i say i prefer to do it ...
